WCT7 World Championships: Transfer Window Now Closed
The transfer window for the WCT7 World Championships officially closed on Friday, 27 February at 18:00 (UK). From this point forward, no further transfers will be permitted. As a reminder, a transfer applies to any athlete who was officially registered with a team during the current or previous season (WCT6 or WCT7, from Nationals to Worlds). Teams may still add new recruits to their rosters, but no registered athlete may change teams until after the World Championships.
With the deadline now behind us, let's look at the moves that could reshape the landscape heading into Worlds.
The Return of Jason Wu Bergeron

The biggest story of this transfer window, and arguably the biggest story of the season, is the return of Jason Wu Bergeron. The WCT6 World Champion, three-time US Champion, WCT6 Worlds MVP, and the only athlete in history to retire with an undefeated record, is coming back. And nobody saw this coming.
Even more surprising? He's joining Fakaw Paris.
Bergeron, formerly of APEX Moon, had been widely considered retired from competitive Chase Tag. His decision to return with a French team has sent shockwaves through the community. With Bergeron added to an already talented Fakaw roster led by captain Esteban Noguera, the Parisian squad could be one of the most dangerous teams on the floor at Worlds.
Full Fakaw Paris roster:
- Esteban Noguera (captain)
- Roger Maurice Galathée
- Antoine Crepin
- Luc Yan
- Jules Mettetal
- Elliot Renouf (new recruit)
- Maxence Douriot (new recruit)
- Jason Wu Bergeron (transfer from APEX Moon, WCT6 World Champion, 3x US Champion, WCT6 Worlds MVP, undefeated)
Jarrod Luty to Hollywood

Another former APEX Moon athlete has found a new home. Jarrod Luty, one of Moon's key contributors, has transferred to Hollywood. Captain Kyle Soderman's squad was already building serious momentum, and Luty's addition strengthens their case as genuine title contenders. Hollywood is looking ever more threatening, and many are now considering them among the favourites to lift the trophy for a second consecutive time.
Full Hollywood Freerunners roster:
- Kyle Soderman (captain)
- Amos Rendao
- Ky Baldwin
- Gabe Torres
- Carson Palmer
- Grant Kiningham (new recruit)
- Jarrod Luty (transfer from APEX Moon)
Maïlys Blasco to Volt
In another headline move, Maïlys Blasco, captain and driving force behind Nano's WCT6 World Championship victory, has transferred to Volt. Her arrival instantly transforms the Volt roster who now boasts a lineup with serious championship pedigree. This is the kind of transfer that shifts the balance of power in the women's division entirely.
Full Volt roster:
- Mariore Manneville (captain)
- Andra Quesney
- Clémence Benoît
- Béline Lesage
- Maïlys Blasco (transfer from Nano, WCT6 World Champion, former Nano captain)
Mohamed Ayari Joins UGEN
This one won't come as a surprise to those who have been paying attention. Mohamed Ayari's move from Parkour59 to UGEN had been public for some time, and he already competed in multiple Chase-Offs wearing the UGEN jersey. Still, the official confirmation is noteworthy. Ayari joins an already stacked roster featuring tri-captains Richard Thompson, Dave Hogenboom, and Haroon Hanafi. The question now is whether this final piece will be enough for UGEN to deliver the international results their talent has long promised.
Full UGEN roster:
- Richard Thompson (co-captain)
- Dave Hogenboom (co-captain)
- Haroon Hanafi (co-captain)
- Sam van Rijn
- Luke Horner
- Orlando Devaux
- Mohamed Ayari (transfer from Parkour59)

Antoine Henriques to The Crow

Taylor Carpenter Joins Kunoichi
Kunoichi, the WCT6 US Champions and WCT6 Worlds vice-champions, have added a significant piece to their roster. Taylor Carpenter, a Panamerican Champion and Panamerican MVP, transfers in from APEX Nemesis. Coach Adam Kozy's squad, led by captain Jess Chan, already had the pedigree and the results. With Carpenter on board, Kunoichi looks poised for another deep run at Worlds.
