How Rankings Work

Who Can Be Ranked

Only athletes with a current WCT™ athlete license can be ranked, join a team or compete in sanctioned events. Ranked 1v1 sessions and ranked Chase-Offs™ are hosted exclusively by WCT Performance Centers, on an official 8m or 12m Quad™.

Every Match Counts

At every eligible event, a team's rating is updated after each individual match they play, not just the final result.

ELO Algorithm

Points won or lost are calculated with an ELO system: they depend on the level of the competition, the strength of the opponent and the result of the match. Beating a higher-ranked team is worth more than beating a lower-ranked one.

Qualify for Worlds

Ratings carry across the season into one international leaderboard per division, Open and Women's. The top-ranked teams earn their place at the WCT™ World Championships. No wild cards.

Ratings are recalculated live throughout each event, so the leaderboard reflects exactly how every team performed, match by match.
