France – June 2025
The very first WCT Academy™ season in Europe has officially come to a close, and what a start it’s been. Across three exciting stops in France : Toulouse (January), Évry-Courcouronnes (May), and Roubaix (June). The energy, talent, and passion from young athletes lit up the Quad™ and set the tone for the future of the sport.
3 Events, 5 Cities, 1 Goal: Grow the Game
This inaugural season brought together 8 teams from 5 different cities, all eager to compete, grow, and represent their local communities on the national stage. With participants aged 10 to 15 years old, WCT Academy™ offered a structured, high-level environment for young athletes to experience the thrill of competition, while helping clubs develop new training goals and team spirit.
Each event used our original Chase Off™ format, giving players ample chase time, real team strategies, and space to progress. One thing is clear: the next generation is here, and they’re hungry.
A Season of Growth – For Athletes and Communities Alike
More than just a series of competitions, the first WCT Academy™ season was a catalyst for growth, discovery, and long-term development. Week after week, we witnessed:
- Athletes improving rapidly between events, both in movement quality and tactical awareness
- A clear rise in motivation and ambition, with players and coaches pushing to train more seriously
- Local clubs starting to invest in Quad™, equipment, and dedicated training slots
- Parents, spectators, and young fans getting involved and building community support
Behind the scenes, our partner gyms and cities played a vital role in this success. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Parkour59, Fakaw, Chase Tag Arena, the City of Évry-Courcouronnes, and the City of Roubaix, all of whom made this season possible through logistics, space, energy, and commitment to the youth.
Spotlight on the Teams – Talent, Spirit & Sportsmanship
A special shoutout to the eight pioneering youth teams who made this first season possible:
- Fakaw66, Evry-Courcouronnes
- Phenix, Toulouse
- Parkour59 Spark, Roubaix
- Reborn, Belgium
- Cloud, Evry-Courcouronnes
- Evry Zoo, Evry-Courcouronnes
- Rook, Evry-Courcouronnes
- Griffon21, Ploërmel
Every single team brought something unique, from raw talent to tactical innovation, from team unity to individual brilliance. But beyond the results, it was the spirit on and off the Quad™ that truly stood out.
The highlight of the season came during the final stop in Roubaix, where Parkour59 Spark claimed the title of first-ever WCT Academy™ champions. In front of their families and local supporters, they delivered a performance full of determination and heart, securing victory in what was unanimously considered the most intense and exciting match of the season. A gripping final match against Phenix (Toulouse). The energy in the room, the tension of every chase, and the eruption of joy at the final buzzer made this moment unforgettable, perfectly capping off a season of growth and promise.
That’s why, in addition to the main trophy awarded to the season’s top team, several special awards were presented to recognize fair play, resilience, courage, and team spirit. These moments are the foundation of what WCT Academy™ stands for.
One gesture that perfectly embodied this mindset came from Fakaw66, who made the bold choice to skip their home event, where they would’ve had the comfort of playing on their own Quad™, in front of their own crowd, without the fatigue or cost of travel and instead committed to the more demanding away events in Toulouse and Roubaix. Their goal? To compete against the best, under the hardest conditions, and earn their ranking the right way. This kind of integrity and sportsmanship is rare, and it deserves recognition. There’s no glory in winning easily — and Fakaw66 knew it.
A Season That Inspired And What Comes Next
The WCT Academy™ events reached thousands of viewers online, thanks to French and English live stream commentary, and attracted hundreds of spectators on-site. It created momentum not just for the athletes, but for clubs, parents, and cities who now see the true potential of structured Chase Tag® development.
The overwhelming feedback confirms it: this is just the beginning. And as we look ahead to the 2025–2026 Academy Season, more clubs will have the chance to join, host events, and train the next wave of Chase Tag® talent.
