A Letter That Changed Everything
In the small French city of Joigny, near Auxerre, a group of primary school students decided to take matters into their own hands. Pupils from CM1 and CM2 classes, children aged 9 to 11, compiled a detailed dossier and wrote directly to their mayor with an ambitious request: bring World Chase Tag® to their community.
Their wish has now been granted. The city of Joigny has officially installed an 8x8m World Chase Tag® Quad™, creating the first publicly accessible outdoor Quad™ of this size anywhere in the world.
A Historic Installation for World Chase Tag®
France continues to lead the way in bringing World Chase Tag® infrastructure to the public. Following the installation of the world's first 12x12m outdoor Quad™ in Évry-Courcouronnes, Joigny now claims its own historic first with the 8x8m format.
The 8x8m Quad™ offers an ideal training environment for players of all ages and skill levels. Its compact dimensions make it perfect for schools, community spaces, and recreational areas while maintaining the authentic World Chase Tag® experience that millions of fans watch on broadcasts across 35+ countries.
Building a Community Around the Sport
The installation is just the beginning. Local stakeholders are currently developing an association dedicated to growing World Chase Tag® in the Joigny area. This organisation will create regular programming and events around the Quad™, transforming it from a playground feature into a genuine training ground for future athletes.
The initiative reflects the grassroots spirit that has driven World Chase Tag® from viral YouTube phenomenon to globally broadcast sport, communities building infrastructure, developing talent, and creating their own competitive ecosystems.
