The Oldest Game. The Newest Sport.
World Chase Tag® is the first and only global league for competitive tag. Born from a backyard game in 2011, WCT has grown into an international phenomenon broadcast in 35+ countries, drawing 3B+ lifetime views, and uniting elite athletes from 18 nations across two divisions: an open division and a dedicated women's division.
WCT6 World Championships — 2024
Two teams of up to 6 athletes face off inside The Quad™, a 12m × 12m arena filled with obstacles. Each match is best of 16 chases. Strategy meets raw athleticism.
If the evader survives 20 seconds without being tagged, their team scores. If a match is tied, it goes to Sudden Death Chase-Off™. Each team picks their best chaser and best evader for one final chase each.
Turning the oldest game into the newest sport since 2011
World Chase Tag® was formed by Christian Devaux in 2012 after a game of tag with his son in their back garden. Joined by his brother Damien, they went from organising casual meet-ups in Hyde Park (London) to hosting international competitions featuring some of the world's best athletes.
In 2020, they teamed up with Tupelo Honey CEO Cary Glotzer, who, together with Gray TV, became equity partners. WCT events now span three tiers: National Championships, Continental Championships, and World Championships with the upcoming WCT7 set for June 6–7, 2026 in Évry-Courcouronnes, France.
Our team combines expertise in global expansion, technology, and sports innovation driving WCT's growth into a global sensation broadcast in 35+ countries.
